UKIP Sheffield members travelled to London and took part in the mass lobby of Parliament yesterday before the vote on whether Britain should be allowed an EU referendum.
Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield yesterday morning, UKIP General Secretary Jonathan Arnott asked whether the Lib Dems would be sticking to their promise at the General Election:
"Let's see what the Lib Dems do. Because at the General Election - and it was on their website until Wednesday - they said that the Liberal Democrats believe we should have a real vote on Europe, whether we should be in or out. We all know what they did with their promise on tuition fees; let's see whether they stick to their promise and say that they want to have a real vote on Europe."
Despite this, just ONE Lib Dem MP supported the motion - proving that their word, yet again, cannot be trusted. 81 Conservative and 19 Labour MPs also voted for a referendum, but sadly none of these were local Sheffield MPs.
