UKIP Sheffield has welcomed yesterday's announcement that radical hate preacher Dr Zakir Naik has been denied entry to the UK. Naik - who stated that ‘every Muslim should be a terrorist’ - was due to speak at Sheffield Arena this Friday, with another speaking engagement in London.

Organisers of the event, London based Al-Khair Foundation are considering an appeal to the ban, issued by Home Secretary Theresa May. UKIP Sheffield committee member Wayne Harling welcomes the ban of Dr Naik. “Allowing potentially dangerous people such as Dr Zakir Naik into the UK to preach hate would be incredibly irresponsible. He is a radicalized preacher, rejected by mainstream Islam and has a hate for the western world and way of life.”

UKIP Sheffield believes that all communities should work together for the good of our city.  But hosting a hate preacher such as Dr Naik would have encouraged community division.
